Can I index the art or create my own collection on the BillionDollarArtGallery?

Yes, on your computer.

There are more than 500 manufacturers of televisions and about 10,000 models of televisions in use today. People keep their TVs for about 15 years, and each TV has a different operating system. TV software is not standardized or advanced like the software in phones and computers, which is why the BillionDollarArtGallery adapts to the video and slideshow software available today.

The main purpose of the BillionDollarArtGallery is to create a museum experience in your home. You can also create your own collections of paintings on your BillionDollarArtGallery stick. Here's how:

Search for art on the BillionDollarArtGallery.

On your computer's file manager

Search for the name of the artist, the name of the painting, the Museum that you like, and even the year of the painting. Create a directory on the BillionDollarArtGallery called, for instance, \MyMuseum, and copy the paintings you like into your new directory. You can even edit the numbers at the beginning of the filenames to present the paintings in the order you like: 001Starry Night will appear prior to 002Vase with Fourteen Sunflowers

A search for New York that also shows a painting set in New York

A search for paintings of the 1820s. Note the use of the asterisk for the last digit:  182*

Create your own collection of BillionDollarArtGallery paintings

You can choose which of the 500 paintings you want to display and you do not need to show captions. The easiest way is:

1. On your computer, create a directory on the BillionDollarArtGallery called \MyGallery

2. Copy the paintings you want to present into \MyGallery

3. Using your TV's slideshow, play the paintings in \MyGallery.

4. Select the Repeat function in the slideshow to keep displaying your painting collection indefinitely.

Search the BillionDollarArtGallery website on your phone or Internet browser

You can search for even greater detail on the BillionDollarArtGallery / Paintings page. Search for picture elements like "hat" or "dog" or schools of painting like "Impressionism." Placing the cursor over a painting reveals the name of the painting, the artist, the museum and the year when it was painted. Once you have identified the painting, you can copy it into your personal collection. Many people like paintings of horses, so you could search our website for "horse" and pick the paintings that include horses that you would like to see.
