The Sony XR Help Guide is online here: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/iusltn1/v1/en-003/04-01.html
Step-by-step procedures to play USB content are not very detailed, but Sony's info is reproduced below.
The Reference Guide is attached to this FAQ and can be downloaded here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/5024/db65e7deb459f2b1a68be2aa09d4584c/50245401M.pdf
Sony XR TVs may require a third-party app to play video files.
If necessary, we recommend the free VLC video player which is reliable and universally available in app stores. See: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/
The USB ports on the TV support FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS file systems. Because most TVs use the FAT32 standard, the BillionDollarArtGallery is formatted for FAT32, though NTFS versions are available by special order.
Installation
Install the BillionDollarArtGallery in USB port 1 or 2, which are designed for USB 2.0.
The Sony Remote Control

Your remote control should look like the one pictured below.
Do not use the cable remote to access the USB port because cable TV devices are not designed to support non-cable content.
The included remote control, as well as the button icons, vary depending on your model/country/region.

Note
- Some photo images or folders take time to display depending on the image dimension, file size, and number of files in a folder.
- Displaying the USB device may take some time because the TV accesses the USB device every time the USB device is connected.
- All USB ports on the TV support Hi-Speed USB. The blue USB port supports SuperSpeed (USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0). USB hubs are not supported.
- While accessing the USB device, do not turn off the TV or USB device, do not disconnect the USB cable, and do not remove or insert recording media. Otherwise, data stored on the USB device may be corrupted.
- Depending on the file, playback may not be possible, even when using the supported formats.
