Sony XBR-75X940E TV and the BillionDollarArtGallery

Use this Guide to get started with your BillionDollarArtGallery

The XBR-75X940E manual and reference guide are both attached for convenient download.

  1. Insert the BillionDollarArtGallery in your TV's USB port. Some Sony TVs have a "service only" port in the back that does not function.

How to insert a USB Memory Card:
  2. Using the TV remote (NOT the cable remote), press the Home button until you find the USB port.
  3. Choose the file directory, and then choose the video, which plays the paintings, music and captions together.  The video file often starts with 0000 to bring that file to the top of the stack. You can also play the paintings by choosing one of the numbered "photo" files; the TV will display a photo show that presents the paintings.

If you have a Roku Ultra, DVD player with USB input, or other media player, you can also play the BillionDollarArtGallery in the Roku Ultra or your external media player.

Troubleshooting

If your TV does not recognize the BillionDollarArtGallery:

  • Check your BillionDollarArtGallery on a computer if you have one. If you have removed your memory stick without "ejecting" it, the stick may have been corrupted or erased. Checking the files in a computer will confirm that the files are still there. If the stick is erased, please submit a ticket here for a warranty replacement.
  • Check to make sure your TV's USB port is for sharing photos and videos. Some old TVs are stamped, "Service Tech Only" near the USB port; this is rare, but those USB ports cannot be used by consumers. Similarly, the USB port in your cable box is for technicians only.
  • Try re-booting the TV by unplugging it, waiting for 1 minute, and plugging it in again. TVs are like computers that can sometimes benefit from re-starting.
  • Update your TV's software. (Many people have never updated their TVs software.)  How to update your Sony TV software
  • Some TVs such as Android or Google TVs will play videos, but may require the installation of a video app. If you need a video app, we suggest the free VLC Media Player.
