Can I freeze BillionDollarArtGallery on just one painting?

Yes -- and no. That depends on the software in your television, which we cannot control. 

BillionDollarArtGallery provides both individual paintings and a video of the entire selection with music and captions. You can pause the video and, using your TV's photo show, display one painting. The painting will display as long as your TV enables a video to pause or a single image to display.

Some TVs also enable you to add a single painting to a screen saver that displays when nothing else is happening. Newer TVs have more display options, but the software on all TVs is different -- even among TVs made by the same manufacturer.

Since 2022, BillionDollarArtGallery has also offered a file called Party Mode, which displays a selection of cropped, wide paintings that fill the TV screen, and display each painting for 3 minutes. Party Mode is meant to turn your TV into something pretty and non-offensive (no nudes or gore) for a party. Most people would not consider Party Mode "serious" art, but it is pleasant.

Displaying a single painting on almost any TV

The only way to display a single painting for a long time is to create a short video of the painting, place it in its own sub-directory on the memory stick, and then instruct your TV to play that video with auto-repeat. 

WARNING: depending on your TV, running the same painting over a long period of time could cause permanent burn-in.

The Samsung Frame Television

The Samsung Frame is designed to display images for extended periods and to mimic wall art. As of Dec 1, 2023, the BillionDollarArtGallery also offers a directory with 270 full-screen images. These paintings have been cropped, so they are not truly the art that the painter intended, but they are pleasant and they fill the screen -- two qualities that many people desire. They can also be imported into the Samsung Frame software, and they look terrific.
