Roku Ultra or Roku TV and the BillionDollarArtGallery

Displaying the BillionDollarArtGallery on a Roku Ultra or Roku TV

We tested on the Roku Ultra, which has a USB port. Not all Roku devices have USB ports, but those that do work similarly.  We tested both formats for BillionDollarArtGallery: FAT32 (2GB video) and NTFS (5GB video). Both worked.  Note that an external Roku Ultra requires a high bandwidth HDMI cable.

Step-by-Step Procedure

Roku TV: Insert the USB into your TV's USB port.

Roku Ultra: Insert the BillionDollarArtGallery into the Roku’s USB port. The gold contacts face the plastic “tongue” in the USB port; in the Roku Ultra, the contacts face “up.”

Navigate to your Roku apps and scroll down to the Roku Media Player. If you do not see the Roku Media Player, choose Streaming Channels and search "media". Choose the Roku Media Player.

If you have a Roku TV, choose the Media Player in the TV.

The easiest way to play the BillionDollarArtGallery is to choose Video:

Choose the USB DISK

Choose the file called 0000 Video Billio…. (We call it 0000, so the video file appears at the top of every file menu.)

Choose Play from beginning or, if you have already been using the BillionDollarArtGallery, choose Resume.

The BillionDollarArtGallery will play along with music and captions, which appear a few seconds after a painting is displayed.
